Mapbox Styles

As mentioned, Mapbox provides a variety of base map layer styles out of the box, which are documented in their Styles API pages.

Access Requirements

These styles are available to all accounts using a valid access token.

Mapbox Studio

But that’s not all – Mapbox Studio allows you a whole lot more customizability for your Mapbox maps. You can create your own styles based on your artistic preferences, or ones that match your project’s branding.

To Do Optional

1. Find a favorite photo on your computer, or use one from Unsplash.
2. Go to Mapbox’s Cartogram App and drag/drop the photo to see the new base map layer style.
3. Adjust the controls over the photo to your preferences.
4. If you are logged into your Mapbox account, click Saved style! to open the style in Mapbox Studio.
5. Publish your new one-of-a-kind base map layer to use in your map!
